Identifying your child’s unique talents through testing is the first step toward matching them with an appropriate academic challenge. We offer a range of testing options to fit your child’s needs and learning goals. You can follow these steps to register for the In-Person SCAT, Online SCAT, or In-Person STB:  

  • Click the “Special Requests” link in the left navigation. 
  • Select your test 
  • Select “SCAT In-Person Test” to take the School and College Ability Test at a Prometric location. 
  • Select “STB In-Person Test” to take the Spatial Test Battery at a Prometric location. 
  • Select “SCAT Online Test” to take the Online SCAT at home on a computer. 
  • Click “Add to Cart.” 
  • Review the testing instructions, then click the “I Agree” check box and click “Add to Cart.” 
  • Under “Options,” click “Add/Remove Members.”  
  • Select the student who will take the test and click “Enroll Members.” 
  • Select your payment method and click “Continue Checkout.” 
  • You will be directed to another page to securely complete your purchase. 

 

After checkout: 

  • A test link will appear under “Special Request Purchases” in your MyCTY account. 
  • When you click the test link, you will be taken directly to the testing platform for the exam you purchased. 
  • If you purchased the SCAT In-Person Test or STB In-Person Test, you can proceed with scheduling your in-person exam on the Prometric website. 
  • If you purchased the Online SCAT via Proctor360, you can access your child’s test in MyCTY. When your child is ready to take the exam, you can click “Access Proctor360 Exam” and proceed with the exam.  
  • For all tests, a testing record is automatically created in MyCTY, under the student’s profile. 

 

NOTE: Students must complete their test within 30 days of registration. Tests not completed within the 30-day window will expire and must be repurchased. Testing fees are non-refundable. We encourage families to test as soon as possible to take full advantage of CTY’s programs and services.
