COVID-19 Policies and Procedures
Prevention
It is strongly recommended, but not required, that CTY staff and students be up to date on COVID-19 vaccination.
Response
CTY aligns its response to cases of COVID-19 with the U.S. CDC guidelines, Preventing Spread of Respiratory Viruses When You're Sick and to any host site requirements.
Per CDC guidelines, if students or staff test positive for COVID-19, CTY requires:
- Isolation until, for at least 24 hours, both are true:
- Symptoms are getting better overall, and
- The person has not had a fever (and is not using fever-reducing medication).
- The person to wear a mask for five days after returning to normal activities, except when eating, bathing, or sleeping
Students who leave isolation return to living in their assigned rooms with their roommate(s).
Notification
If a student tests positive for COVID-19, CTY will notify the student’s family. There will be no other notifications.
