The following are sample daily schedules for students at our residential/sleepaway summer sites. See job descriptions for sample schedules of specific roles at CTY summer sites. 

  

Residential Sites for Grades 7+ 

 

9 a.m.-12 p.m. Class, including a 15-minute break 

12-1 p.m. Lunch 

1-3 p.m. Class/lab. Includes a 10-minute break. Some science classes meet until 3:30 p.m. in order to complete lab work 

3:15-5:30 p.m. Activities. RAs conduct activities for students; instructional staff use this time for planning 

5:30-6:30 p.m. Dinner  

7-9 p.m. Evening class session. TAs generally supervise these sessions. Instructors attend a minimum of 4 hours/week 

9:15-10:30 p.m. Social time, hall meeting, and lights out. Students are in their residence halls for meetings; instructional staff use this time for planning and weekly meetings 

 

Young Students Residential Sites for Grades 5-6  

 

9-11:30 a.m. Class, including a 15-minute break 

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Lunch  

12:30-2:30 p.m. Class/lab 

2:30-2:45 p.m. Afternoon break  

2:45-4:15 p.m. Late-afternoon class session. Instructors and Teaching Assistants are required to attend all sessions 

4:30-6:30 p.m. Hall time and dinner (Instructional staff use this time for planning and weekly meetings.)  

6:30-8:30 p.m. Activities period. RAs conduct activities for students. Instructional staff use this time for planning.)  

8:45-9:30 p.m. Hall time, evening activities, and lights out. Students are in their residence halls for meetings; instructional staff may use this for additional planning time
