Lab 1: Investigating Rust on a Screw
- 1 tablespoon measuring spoon
- 1/2 cup measuring cup

- 4 small containers (suggestion: small cups or snack bowls)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup soda
- 1/2 cup salt water (4 tablespoons salt)
- 4 nails or screws (avoid stainless steel)
Lab 2: Investigating Cause and Effect with Data
- This lab allows you to choose one of three options. The required materials will depend upon which lab you choose.
Lab 3: Design and Conduct a Temperature Investigation
- You will design this investigation yourself. The lab includes suggested materials. The required materials will depend on your procedure.

- 127 cm (50 inches) of clear sticky tape
- 1 compass
- 1 bar magnet (must be strong enough to move the compass)
- 2 pieces of white paper
- Colored Construction Paper
