CTY will consider requests for medical or religious exemptions to its COVID-19 vaccine requirement on a case-by-case basis.

After your student’s enrollment you will receive instructions for requesting an exemption. Requests are due no later than April 11, 2022.

Students with approved exemptions will be permitted to check in on site and participate in the program with the following provisions above and beyond those required of all participants, and any additional provisions for unvaccinated students that CTY deems necessary at the time of the program. All provisions are subject to change based on standards and guidance available at the time of the program.

  • Regular testing. Under current guidance, unvaccinated students will be required to test twice per week at the family’s expense.
  • Immediate departure from campus and quarantine if the unvaccinated student has exposure to a contact who has tested positive for COVID-19. NoteA household contact is a roommate or suitemate. A community contact, or meaningful contact, is someone that the positive student has been within 6 feet of for more than 15 minutes in a 24-hour period. At this time, vaccinated participants are subject to 5-day quarantine if a household contact tests positive; unvaccinated participants are subject to 10-day quarantine if a household contact tests positive or they have a meaningful exposure to a positive case.
  • At residential sites, unvaccinated students will not share sleeping rooms with vaccinated students under any circumstances, as an additional measure CTY is taking to monitor and reduce potential COVID-19 transmission.
  • Assignment to a single room is subject to availability and possible additional cost that will be responsibility of the family.
  • Unvaccinated students whose medical conditions place them at higher risk for severe COVID-19 disease will have priority for single rooms.
