Withdrawal requests for CTY session-based or individually paced online courses should be sent to ctyonline@jhu.edu. Withdrawal requests for LIVE or Problem-Based Courses should be sent to ctyenrollment@jhu.edu.

For session-based and individually paced courses: Per our refund policy, if a student withdraws from a course before the designated start date, you will receive a full refund (minus the $15 non-refundable application fee). If a student withdraws from a course within 14 days of the course start date, you will receive an 80% refund. After that time, we are not able to issue a refund.

For LIVE or Problem-Based courses: You must submit your request in writing to ctyenrollment@jhu.edu two weeks before the first day of class to receive a 100% tuition-only refund. Application fees are non-refundable. LIVE and Problem-Based courses depend on cohort-based classes, and they are filled on a first-come-first-served basis. For this reason, all amounts paid are non-refundable two weeks before the first day of class.

If a student needs to withdraw from an online course due to a medical reason, the family should submit an accommodation request through MyCTY and upload appropriate supporting documentation for the medical request. To do so, a parent/guardian should log into the MyCTY account as a Parent. On the left, there is a link to request accommodations. Fill out the appropriate demographic information and then add/upload documentation. CTY Disabilities will review the request and documentation to determine that the medical request is approved. Once it is approved, the family will receive a letter from Disability Services within five business days.
