Tuition for Individually Paced courses
Tuition for Individually Paced (IP) courses is based on the amount of time selected. Students who have not completed their course when their enrollment time ends may pay to re-enroll for more time.
The following tuitions are in effect for IP course enrollments that start July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022.
· 3 months tuition: $885
· 6 months tuition: $1,715
In addition to the three- or six-month options, students extending their enrollment to finish an IP course may apply for a one-month extension for $320 (tuition), plus the $15 application fee discussed below. The application fee may be waived if the student's enrollment period has not expired at the time the student applies for an extension. The one-month tuition option is available to students extending enrollment in an unfinished IP course. The one-month extension is not available to students enrolling into new IP courses.

Tuition for LIVE and Problem-Based Learning courses
Fall, Winter, and Spring: The tuition for each LIVE course is $1,250 per session. The tuition for each Problem-Based Learning course is $1,500 per session. Summer 2022: The tuition for each LIVE or PBL course is $1,300 per session.
Families can expect to spend an additional $25 to $50 on books and supplies. Details will be shared with enrolled students in advance of the course start date. The course catalog provides information about classes that require more significant software or learning kit purchases.
Limited financial aid is available for LIVE and Problem-Based Learning courses. To apply for financial aid, check the box on the program application that says "I will be applying for Financial Aid."
Fees for all courses
$15 Non-refundable Application Fee: required for all applicants, including those who are extending an individually paced enrollment
$20 Non-refundable International Fee: required for all students living outside the United States (If the cost of shipping materials outside of the United States is above this amount, the excess cost will be charged directly to the student's account)
$25 Late Application Fee: for session-based courses only
$25 Course Change Fee: Course changes are generally not possible except when CTY determines that the student should be placed at a different level, in which case the fee is waived. If a course change is requested for another reason, and the change is approved by CTY, the course change fee is applied.
Full payment of tuition and fees must accompany the application. Payment may be made by check, money order, MasterCard, Discover, or Visa. Students may enroll only after all past due balances are paid (including balances from other CTY programs). Payments are applied to oldest balances first and then to current application requirements. Applications cannot be processed without payment and will be returned.
Refund policies and procedures
Refund policy for Individually Paced and Session-Based courses
Parents and/or guardians can receive an 80 percent tuition refund by submitting a written withdrawal request to CTY no later than two weeks after the course start date. Students who withdraw from a course prior to the start date will receive a full refund of tuition paid. Refunds may take up to five business days to process for electronic payment. Paper check refunds take two to four weeks to process from the time that withdrawal notification is received by the CTY Registrar. Application fees will not be refunded. Send withdrawal requests to ctyonline@jhu.edu.
Students who withdraw or fail to participate after the two-week withdrawal period are not eligible for refunds. Students who violate the Student Code of Conduct may be withdrawn from the program without refund.
Refund policy for LIVE and Problem-Based Learning courses
Families wishing to withdraw from a LIVE or Problem-Based Learning course must submit a written request to ctyenrollment@jhu.edu.
Families withdrawing from a LIVE or Problem-Based course must submit their in-writing request two weeks before the first day of class to receive a 100% tuition-only refund. Application fees are non-refundable. LIVE and Problem-Based Learning courses depend on cohort-based classes, and they are filled on a first-come-first-served basis. For this reason, all amounts paid are non-refundable two weeks before the first day of class.
Refunds will be returned via the original form of payment. Families may expect to see their electronic refunds within 5 to 7 business days of the withdrawal request. Paper check refunds may take up to 2-3 weeks.
Questions concerning the status of a refund may be sent to ctyar@jhu.edu or 800-393-6095, option 1.
