CTY has a process in place to work with you to ensure your child has the needed and appropriate support for their CTY qualifying test.

For the SCAT and STB, please take the following steps to request testing accommodations for your child.

  1. Ensure you have submitted an application within the current academic year (July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020). This should be a Talent Search (grades 2-8) application.
  2. After submitting your testing application, submit an online Request for Accommodations form. This can be found in your MyCTY account by clicking the “Accommodations for CTY Programs and SCAT/STB Testing” link in the left-hand menu. You will be asked to review some terms before moving on to the request form.
  3. Complete the request form and attach supporting documentation to the online request form. You can submit this later as well by contacting ctydisabilities@jhu.edu or melissa.kistler@jhu.edu.
  4. After submitting your testing application, request form, and accompanying documentation, you will hear back from CTY Disabilities Services within 10 business days with directions for accessing your child’s accommodation approval letter and directions for scheduling their test with Prometric.

To request accommodations for the SAT, PSAT, or ACT, you will need to work with the College Board and ACT directly. CTY staff are not involved in the process for these tests. You can find details on who to contact here.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to CTY Disability Services at
